The Ashington Railway has finally been reopened for the first time since 1969 and we are absolutely delighted that our students could be a part of such a wonderful historical event for our community. Coming together with local MP Ian Lavery, the Mayor of Northumberland Kim McGuinness, counsellor Glen Sanderson and the Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander, our students were ecstatic to be supporting the grand opening of a very eagerly anticipated railway line.
